This project aims to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues through the captivating medium of cyanotype prints.
The project focuses on four key environmental issues: rising sea levels, deforestation, the plastic crisis, and rewilding. Each issue was approached separately and researched thoroughly, with experimentation and production of a series of prints for each topic, allowing for a comprehensive exploration.
The environmental development of the project was created in mind with the narrative allowing work to be produced about the environment with minimal impact on the environment while producing the final images. The method used in this series of work is called Cyanotypes, this is where a paper is coated with a solution that has minimal impact on aquatic environment and is UV sensitive allowing for direct image exposure using the sun or a UV box. The final images are A4 in size and each represent one of the impacts on the environment.
